Design led mixed use re-development of a fire damaged site in an iconic city centre location
Mill House
Mill House, Newnham Road
Located in the popular Newnham area of Cambridge, Mill house emerged from what was a badly fire damaged Indian restaurant. It is set right in front of the Mill Pond next to the iconic Newnham Mill.
A Contemporary building in an outstanding location
Renowned Cambridge Architects Moses Cameron Williams, designed a contemporary new building replacing the existing (fire damaged) 1920’s mock Tudor building. The ground floor was designed and built for commercial premises and is now now home to the Bean Theory café.
The additional floors have 7 superbly finished apartments, some with views that open out across the mill pond

Respectful design led approach
The approach had been to create a building which is of an appropriate scale for this important focal site, yet has a form that responds to and respects the adjacent Newnham Mill building and the other neighbouring buildings.
