Cambridge’s Swiss Laundry warehouses and tannery, reimagined
Old Swiss
The Reimagining
Cambridge’s Swiss Laundry warehouses and tannery, reimagined as 50,000ft2 of sophisticated R&D and office space.
Prime Location
Located just 15 minutes walk from the Train station, Old Swiss has captured many of the design highlights from the old site, with a new traditional styled chimney and the Cambridge Gault brickwork. Now the buildings are accentuated by higher ceilings, mezzanines, and floods of natural night.
The material palette at Old Swiss is without compromise. Durable zinc cladding, which resists corrosion and is 100% recyclable. Anthra-zinc lines the roof of the washhouse for a smooth, rhythmic result. Quartz zinc gives the extended lantern a subtle matt-grey finish.

Swiss Laundry
Once a tannery beside a cattle market, in 1904 Messrs Chapman & Goundry founded the Swiss laundry which endured for 115 years.

The Swiss Laundry was a South Cambridge landmark for over a century. Now it's revived, by our team of local designers and constructors, fusing its classic red brickwork with the best contemporary materials.
